Na noite da última quinta-feira,2/08, foi institucionalizada, com uma pedonalização temporária, aquela que já era conhecida como ponto de encontro da comunidade gay romana: a Via San Giovanni in Lateranno, agora carinhosamente chamada de Gay Street.
A idéia nasceu como uma resposta das associações gays - principalmente a Arcigay Roma - ao episódio da abordagem e prisão de dois rapazes que se beijavam nas imediações do Coliseu por dois policiais.
Umas das frases notáveis da noite, pronunciada por (?): "Na Itália, ocupa-se muito de moralismo sexual e muito pouco de moralidade pública!" É bem verdade.
